timore City, " sub-title "Clerks of the Circuit Court of
Baltimore City, and of the Circuit Court Number Two
, of Baltimore City, " and to enact in lieu thereof two new
Sections, to be known as Sections 484 and 484A, and to
follow immediately after Section 483 of said Article,
relating to the bonds of the Clerks of the Circuit Court
and the Circuit Court Number Two of Baltimore City
and providing for removal of clerk when bond not given
as directed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly o/Maryland,
That Section 484 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1938 Ed. ), title "Baltimore City, " sub-
title "Clerks of the Circuit Court of Baltimore City, and of
the Circuit Court Number Two of Baltimore City, " be
and the same is hereby repealed, and that two new Sec-
tions be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, said
new Sections to be known as Sections 484 and 484A, to
follow immediately after Section 483 of said Article, and
to read as follows:

484. Beginning with November 5, 1946, the Clerk of
the Circuit Court of Baltimore City, before he acts as such,
and the Clerk of the Circuit Court Number Two of Balti-
more City, before he acts as such, shall each give bond to
the State of Maryland in the penal sum of twenty
thousand dollars, with security ~ or securities to be
approved by a judge of the Court of which he is clerk, and
with condition that he faithfully perform the duties of his
office and account for all funds received under color of
his office. Each of said clerks, respectively, shall record
his said bond in the office of the Court of which he is clerk
and thereafter file the same with the State Comptroller.
Each of said clerks shall give a new bond in like manner
on or before the first day of December of the second year
following his qualification in office.

484A. If either of said clerks shall fail to give bond as
hereinbefore directed, it shall be regarded as a misde-
meanor in office, and upon conviction thereof he shall be
removed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.
