give a corporate surety bond in such sum as the
State Comptroller may prescribe, with condition that he
faithfully perform the duties of his office and account
for all funds received under color of his office, and the
treasurer of said Board, if they shall select a treasurer
other than the Director of Correction, shall annually
give a corporate surety bond in such sum as the State
Comptroller may prescribe, with condition that he faith-
fully perform the duties of his office and account for
. all funds received under color of his office. The Board
of Correction shall have power to select a treasurer and
such treasurer need not be a member of the Board of
Correction. Any member of said Board, who shall fail
to take oath and any official failing to give bond with
. security aforesaid within thirty days from the date of
his appointment, or who shall fail to give a new bond
with security as aforesaid, shall be deemed to be guilty
of neglect of duty and shall be removable as heretofore
provided. The cost of any bond, given by any official
under this Section, shall be taken to be a part of the
necessary expenses of said Board and shall be payable
as hereafter provided.

767. Every Warden, or other employee connected with
-any of said institutions, shall in the discretion of the State
Comptroller be required annually to execute a corporate
surety bond to the State of Maryland in such sum as the
State Comptroller may prescribe, with condition that he
faithfully perform the duties of, and account for all funds
received under color of his position as such Warden or
employee; and the said bond shall be filed with the State
Comptroller. If any of the persons aforesaid shall neglect
to execute a bond as herein prescribed within twenty days
after having been directed so to do by the State Comptroller,
the said delinquent shall be dismissed from his employment.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.
