as may be necessary and do all other things deemed neces-
sary to discharge the duties imposed by and to effect the
purposes of this sub-title. The Executive Secretary shall
possess a broad knowledge of the generally accepted prac-
tices in the real estate business in this State and be reason-
ably well informed as to the general laws governing agency
and contracts for the conveyance or leasing of real estate.

The compensation of the members of the Commission,
the Executive Secretary and that of all other employees
of the Commission shall be provided in the State Budget.

The Chairman and Executive Secretary each shall
annually give corporate surety bond to the State of
Maryland, in such sum as the State Comptroller may
prescribe, with condition that he faithfully perform the
duties of his office and account for all funds received
under color of his office.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 710.
(Senate Bill 321)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
744 and 767 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Ed. ), title "Crimes and Punishments, "
sub-title "Department of Correction. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 744 and 767 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Ed. ), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Department of Correction, " be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:

744. Before entering upon the discharge of the duties
of his office, each member of said Board shall take an oath
that he will well and faithfully execute, and perform all
and singular the duties appertaining to his office according
to the laws of the State and the rules and regulations
adopted in accordance therewith. The associate members
of the Board of Correction shall not be required to give
bond for the faithful performance of their duties, but the
Director of Correction shall be required, annually to
