exempting household furniture from State, City or
County taxes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ~bythe General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section (17) of Section 7 of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title
"Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "What Shall Be Taxed and
Where, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
7.
(17). Household furniture and effects in this State
held for the household use of the owners or members of
his family, and not held or employed for purposes of profit
or in connection with any business, profession or occupa-
tion; provided that any county or municipality, in the dis-
cretion of the County Commissioners or the legislative body
of any municipality, may levy, for county or municipal
taxation only, upon such household furniture and effects
in excess of One Hundred Dollars ($100) in value. All such
household furniture and effects owned in Wicomico County
shall be completely exempt from all county or State tax-
ation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
345 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supp. ), title "Licenses, " sub-title "Real Estate
Brokers. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 345 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supp. ), title "Licenses, " sub-title "Real
Estate Brokers, " be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows.
345. The Commission shall employ and may discharge,
at its pleasure an Executive Secretary and such assistants
