Supervisor of Assessments nor the County Assessors be re-
quired to use any part of their salaries, as provided in the
Budget, to defray expenses incurred in carrying out their
duties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 152A to 152H, inclusive, of Article 2 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Assessments", as they were
enacted by Chapter 185 of the Acts of 1939 and amended by
Chapter 377 of the Acts of 1943, be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That a new section is
hereby added to Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-
title "Assessments", said new section to be known as Section
152A, to follow immediately after Section 152 of said Article,
and to read as follows:
152A. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
shall levy annually a sum sufficient to provide transportation
and to pay other expenses incurred by the Supervisor of Assess-
ments and the County Assessors in performing their duties as
now provided by law and such other duties as may now or here-
after be required of them by the State Tax Commission, the
County Commissioners, or by any law. Payment of the fore-
going shall be made upon voucher approved by the Supervisor
of Assessments. Provided that said expenses shall not exceed
a maximum sum of twenty-five hundred dollars per annum.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 466
of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Sheriff", relating to the appointment and compensation of
a warden of the county jail, allowances to the Sheriff for
a cook at the jail, night guard, food and supplies for the jail;
to provide for appointment of the warden by the Sheriff
instead of the County Commissioners, increase the allowance
for a cook, and grant an allowance for clerical work.
