(Talbot County. ) There shall be one trial magistrate who
shall sit at Easton and who shall receive an annual salary of
$2, 400. 00. He shall sit not less than one day or. part thereof
in each week at St. Michaels.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 658.
(House Bill 399)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
96 of Article 52 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace",
sub-title "Trial Magistrate System", sub-heading "Costs", re-
lating to the disposition of fines and costs, to provide that
in Anne Arundel County all fines from violation of ordi-
nances of incorporated municipalities shall be paid to the
municipalities.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 96 of Article 52: of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Justices of
the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrate System", sub-heading
"Costs", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

96. (Costs). All justices of the peace shall charge the fees
and costs authorized by law to be imposed in civil and criminal
cases, but all such fees and costs, and all fines, penalties and
forfeitures imposed and collected by trial magistrates, shall be
paid to the County Commissioners of their respective counties,
except fines, penalties, forfeitures and costs for violations of
the Motor Vehicle Laws, which shall be promptly remitted to
the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, as now provided by law.
All such fines, forfeitures, and penalties and costs so re-
mitted to the County Commissioners shall be retained and
used for county purposes, unless a different disposition is ex-
pressly directed by statute; provided, however, that in Fred-
erick County, the County Commissioners shall within a reason-
