supervised by the Maryland Workshop for the Blind from
the operation of this section.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Licenses", sub-title "Traders", said new section to be known
as Section 73 1/2, to follow immediately after Section 73 of
said Article, and to read as follows:
73 1/2. Any person engaged in the business of selling cigar-
ettes, cigars, or other tobacco products wholesale, who shall
sell such cigarettes, cigars, or other tobacco products to any
person other than one duly licensed by "law to engage in the
retail sale thereof; and a letter writing of the retailer that he
or she is duly licensed, shall be accepted by the wholesaler as
evidence of compliance with the requirements of this section;
and any persons so engaged in selling said tobacco products
retail, who is not duly licensed by law to engage in a retail
sale thereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon
conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one
hundred dollars ($100. 00). Provided, that this section shall
not be construed to prevent sales of tobacco products to retail
vending stands operated under the supervision of the Mary-
land Workshop for the Blind.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be in
effect only for the duration of World War 2.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

(House Bill 314)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 51 and 52 of Article 14 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, Flack's Edition of 1930,
title "Howard County", sub-title "Court Stenographer", and
to enact two new sections so as to provide for additional
duties, as well as additional compensation, for the Court
Stenographer of the Circuit Court for Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 51 and 52 of Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, Flack's Edition of 1930, be,
and the same are hereby, repealed and that two new sections
