Commissioners, " authorizing the County Commissioners
to subscribe to capital stock of turnpike companies.
WHEREAS, there will be no more turnpike companies,
thereby making these sections unnecessary; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 161 and 162 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County, " sub-title ''County Commissioners, "
be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1 of Chapter 42 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, 1822, title "An Act to Incorporate the First
Hagerstown Hose Company, " relating to the incorpora-
tion, purpose and powers of the First Hagerstown Hose
Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Chapter 42 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1822, title "An Act to Incorporate
the First Hagerstown Hose Company, " be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
1. That Charles L. Mobley, Ross F. Kountz, W. Edward
Heimel, and such other persons as now are or hereafter may
become members of the said company, shall be, and they are
hereby declared to be one community, corporation and body
politic forever hereafter, by the name and style of the
"FIRST HAGERSTOWN HOSE COMPANY"; the object
of which Company is hereby declared to be, the protection
of the property of the citizens of Hagerstown from de-
struction by fire; for which purpose they are hereby made
able and capable in law to have, purchase, receive, possess,
enjoy and retain to them and their successors, lands, tene-
ments, rents, annuities or other hereditaments, and the
same to grant, demite, alien or dispose of, in such manner
