SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on July 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 545.
(Senate Bill 487)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 77 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (193'9 Edition), title "Public
Education, " sub-title "County Board of Education, " said
new section to be known as Section 41 A, to follow
immediately after Section 41 of said Article, giving the
county boards of education authority to organize schools
for adults.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 77
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Public Education, " sub-title "County Board of Educa-
tion, " said new section to be known as Section 41A, to
follow immediately after Section 41 of said Article, and
to read as follows:
41A. The County Board of Education, in accordance
with the rules and regulations of the State Department of
Education, may establish and maintain day and evening
schools for adults, the purpose of which shall be to provide
a general program of continuing education in all its aspects
for the improvement of the civic, vocational, and general
intelligence of adults, and to enable them to make, a wise
use of their leisure time.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.
