Poundage, in addition to the foregoing costs, shall be charged
in such cases and in such amounts as may now or hereafter
be allowed by law. No fee or charge of any kind shall be made
for the swearing of any witness or for any order of dismissal
or order of settled and satisfied. Fees payable for continu-
ance shall be those prescribed by rule of said Court. Said
Court shall have power to fix by rule the fees and costs for
all proceedings in said Court not enumerated in this sub-title.
Neither the Chief Constable nor any other constable or Clerk
of said Court shall be entitled for his own use or benefit to
any of the foregoing fees or costs or to any other fees, emolu-
ments, costs or remuneration for services performed in con-
nection with the said Court or any action proceeding therein,
excepting the salary paid him by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore City.

Any person who shall demand, charge or receive any fee,
cost or amount in violation of this section shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be subject
to and pay a fine or penalty of not less than f 100. 00 nor more
than $300. 00 for each offense.

716K. The dockets, records and papers of said Court shall
be retained in the custody of the Chief Constable of the Peo-
ple's Court.

The dockets, records and papers of former Justices of the
Peace of the People's Court shall be retained in the custody
of the Chief Constable of the People's Court. Said Chief Con-
stable is hereby authorized to destroy all original papers in
his possession as such Chief Constable upon order of the Judges
of the People's Court, as follows:

(a) Papers in cases brought under Sections 750 to 755 of
the Baltimore City Charter (1938) and any amendments
thereto may not be destroyed until at least three years shall
have elapsed from the date of filing.
