of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
154. (Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle. ) Any person who
drives a vehicle, not his own, without the consent of the owner
thereof, and with intent temporarily to deprive said owner of
his possession of such vehicle, without intent to steal the same,
is guilty of a misdemeanor. The consent of the owner of a
vehicle to its taking or driving shall not in any case be pre-
sumed or implied because of such owner's consent on a previous
occasion to the taking or driving of such vehicle by the same or
a different person. Any person who assists in, or is a party or
accessory to or an accomplice in any such unauthorized taking
or driving, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and subject, upon conviction,
to a fine of not less than Ten ($10. 00) Dollars, nor more than
One Thousand ($1, 000. 00) Dollars, or imprisonment for not
less than thirty (30) days nor more than one year, or both fine
and imprisonment.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

(House Bill 429)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section 221
of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of
Vehicles Upon Highways", relating to spot lamps and
auxiliary driving lamps.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 221 of Article 66 12 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
221. (Spot Lamps and Auxiliary Driving Lamps. ) (a) Any
motor vehicles may be equipped with not to exceed one spot
