The convention for the nomination of candidates for Mayor
and Treasurer shall be called to order by the Mayor and the
conventions for the nomination of candidates for Councilmen
shall be called to order by the Councilman in each war^d,
whose term of office does not expire, if present at the time and
place designated. If the term of both councilmen expires at the
next election, the senior Councilman shall preside and shall
call to order the convention for the nomination of candidates
for Councilman for that particular ward. If said officers are
not present, any registered voter in the respective conventions
may call the same to order. Each of said conventions shall
choose a presiding officer and a secretary, and such presiding
officer and secretary shall, within two days after the adjourn-
ment of their conventions, certify to the Mayor and Town
Council of Landover Hills the names of all persons nominated
and the office for which nominated.

The name of no person, as a candidate for any office, shall
be printed upon official ballots of election in the Town of
Landover Hills, except the names of such persons contained
in said certificates of nominations.

All official ballots shall conform as near as may be to the
requirements of the general election laws of the State of
Maryland.

Elections shall be held at a place or places to be designated
by the Mayor and Town Council and the polls shall remain
open from two o'clock P. M. to nine o'clock P. M. No ballots
shall be deposited in the ballot boxes after nine o'clock P. M.

Section 12. Prior to the date of any election provided under
this charter, there shall be appointed by the Mayor and Town
Council two judges of election and two clerks of election, who
shall conduct the election in accordance with the provisions
of this charter. The rules and procedure of conducting the
election shall be governed by the general election laws of the
State of Maryland on any question not provided for in this
charter. In the event any judge or clerk after appointment, is
unable to serve, or declines to serve, the remaining judge shall
name someone to take his or her place. At lease seven days
before any election, the Mayor and Town Council shall cause
to be posted in a public place in each of the wards of said
town, notices of said election, designating the time and place
or places for voting and the hours the polls will be open.

There shall be a separate ballot for each ward which ballot
shall contain the names of the candidates for Mayor, Treasurer
and Councilman from that particular ward, with a blank space
for writing in a name following the names of the candidates
for each office, and with a square opposite each name and
opposite said blank for the X mark of the voter.
