432 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 447

WHEREAS, Section 19 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1943 Supplement), fixing the salaries of
the Clerks of the several Courts, has superseded the pro-
visions of this section; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 485 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland & Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edi-
tion), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Salaries of Clerks
of Courts, " be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

Approved March 29, 1945.

CHAPTER 447.
(Senate Bill 526)

AN ACT to repeals and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 475 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland & Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition),
title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Clerks of the Law
Courts of Baltimore City, " eliminating the provisions
fixing fees for indexing judgments.

WHEREAS, Section 12 of Article 36 of the Annotated
Code (1943 Supplement) fixes uniform fees throughout the
State; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 475 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland & Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edi-
tion), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Clerks of the Law
Courts of Baltimore City, " be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

475. The Clerks of the Superior Court of Baltimore
City, of the Common Pleas, and Baltimore City Court are
each authorized and required to prepare an index of all
judgments rendered in the courts aforesaid; and they shall
severally, on each day after the adjournment of court,
enter in a book to be provided for that purpose, an index
of each judgment rendered in the court whereof he is
clerk.
