Code of Maryland (1939 Ed. ), title "Clerks of Courts, "
sub-title "Clerk of the Court of Appeals, " be and the same
are hereby repealed, and that a new Section be and it is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, said new Section to be
known as Section 58, to follow immediately after Section
57 of said Article, and to read as follows:
58. Beginning with November 5, 1946, the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for each county, before he acts as such, shall
give bond to the State of Maryland in the penal sum of
fourteen thousand dollars, with security or securities
to be approved by a judge of the circuit court
of which he is clerk, and with condition that he faithfully
perform the duties of his office and account for all funds
received under color of his office. The said bond shall be
recorded in the office of the court of which he is clerk and
thereafter filed with the State Comptroller. Every such
clerk shall give a new bond in like manner on or before
the first day of December of the second year following his
qualification in office.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
2, 3, and 4 of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1939 Ed. ), title "Sheriffs, " sub-title "Oath of
Office and Bond. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Ed. ), title "Sheriffs, " sub-title
"Oath of Office and Bond, " be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read
as follows:
2. Beginning with November 5, 1946, he shall also,
before he acts as such; give bond to the State of Maryland
in the penalty of twenty-five thousand dollars,
with security, to be approved by a judge of the Circuit Court
for his county, if he be elected for a county, or by a judge of
