Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Deputy
Sheriffs", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

51. The provisions of the foregoing sections in this sub-
title shall only apply to Baltimore and Washington Coun-
ties, but the powers conferred by virtue hereof upon mem-
bers of fire companies shall not apply or be exercised in
incorporated cities, towns or villages which maintain an organ-
ized or regular police force.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments^ Section 22
of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", and to add a new section to said Article,
said new section to be known as Section 22A and to follow
immediately after Section 22 of said Article, conferring cer-
tain additional powers upon the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 22 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, and that a new section be
and it is -hereby added to said Article, said new section to be
known as Section 22A, to follow immediately after Section 22
of said Article, and all to read as follows:

22. At the next general election there shall be five county
commissioners elected for Wicomico County. The Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County shall have all the powers and per-
form such duties as are now or may hereafter be conferred by
law upon the County Commissioners in the several counties
in this State as well as all the powers now or hereafter con-
ferred under the provisions of this Article and not inconsistent
herewith.
