CHAPTER 40.
(House Bill 93)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 70
of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Traders", to eliminate
the provisions relating to alcoholic beverages.

WHEREAS, Article 2B of the Annotated Code prohibits the
transfer of license to sell alcoholic beverages without the ap-
proval of the licensing authorities; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 70 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Traders",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

70. Any trader who has taken out license to sell goods,
chattels, wares and merchandise in this State shall have the
privilege to sell out said license to any party purchasing his
stock of goods and purchasing or renting his place of busi-
ness; and the party so purchasing may continue to sell under
the license of his predecessor in business until the expiration
of said license.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal Section 9 of Article 88B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "State Police", said
section relating to persons transferred from the Department
of Motor Vehicles to the State Police.

WHEREAS, the provisions of this section no longer have any
application; therefore
