To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, WILLIAM J. MCWILLIAMS, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Chapter 441 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1922, 'DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election held
in this State on Tuesday, November 7, 1944, an Act known as
Chapter 796 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1943, was
submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland for their
adoption or rejection, under provisions of Article 16 of the
Constitution of the State, said Act being:
"An Act proposing an amendment to Article IV of the
Constitution of Maryland, title iJudiciary Department',
sub-title Tart I General Provisions', by adding thereto
one new section to be designated ISA to follow imme-
diately after Section 13, authorizing the General Assem-
bly to provide by law for the assignment of judges from
the circuits to sit in other circuits. "
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 97, 995 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 796 of the Acts
of 1943, and 94, 239 votes were cast against the adoption of
said Act, in the State of Maryland; and a majority being cast
for the adoption thereof, it was thereby ratified by the voters
of the State of Maryland.
