To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, WILLIAM J. MCWILLIAMS, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Chapter 441 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1922, DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election held
in this State on Tuesday, November 7, 1944, an Act known as
Chapter 476 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1943, was
submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland for their
adoption or rejection, under provisions of Article 16 of the
Constitution of the State, said Act being:

"Amendment to Section 1 of Article 14 of the Constitution
of Maryland, title 'Amendments to the Constitution',
relating to the advertisements or publication of amend-
ments to the Constitution. "

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 121, 483 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 476 of the Acts
of 1943, and 59, 183 votes were cast against the adoption of
said Act, in the State of Maryland; and a majority being
cast for the adoption thereof, it was thereby ratified by the
voters of the State of Maryland.
