To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, WILLIAM J. McWILLIAMS, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE

STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Section 317 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That, at the General Elec-
tion held in this State on Tuesday, November 7, 1944, an Act,
known as Chapter 967 of the Acts of General Assembly 1943,
was submitted to the voters of Wicomico County for their
adoption or rejection, under the provisions of Article 16 of the
Constitution of the State, said Act being:

"An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
224 and 225 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title 'Wicomico
County', sub-title 'Revenue and T'axes', sub-heading
'County Treasurer', Section 225 having been amended
by Chapter 144 of the Acts of 1935, relating to the com-
pensation and duties of the Treasurer of Wicomico
County, and providing for a referendum thereon. "

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 1, 055 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 967 of the Acts of 1943 and
1, 506 votes were cast against the adoption thereof, the same
has failed of ratification.
