longer of adequate size or condition to use as a public office
building to sell the same at public auction, upon giving three
weeks notice of said sale in two or more newspapers published
in Montgomery County, to the highest bidder therefor, and
to convey the same to said highest bidder for cash.

238B. The Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County is authorized and directed to open an account in the
books of said County, to be known as the "County Commis-
sioners Real Property Account". They shall credit to this
account the proceeds from the sale by the County Commis-
sioners of said Silver Spring County Building. Moneys re-
ceived from such sale shall be available only for the purchase
of land and for the purchase or construction of buildings and
other construction works and projects in replacing said Silver
Spring County Building, it being the intent of this provision
to limit the use of such moneys to such purpose and to pro-
hibit their use for current expenses of the county government.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 1063.
(House Bill 807)

AN ACT authorizing and directing the County Commissioners
of Allegany County temporarily to increase the salaries and
wages of certain officers and employees whose salaries and
wages are paid by said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Allegany County be
and they are hereby authorized and directed temporarily to
increase the compensation of all persons who are employed
on the county roads of Allegany County and who receive their
compensation from the said Commissioners, including but not
restricted to the laborers, workmen, mechanics or other em-
ployees specified by Section 565 of Article 1 of the Coda of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Alle-
gany County", sub-title "Roads". The increase in each instance
shall be computed at the rate of ten (10) cents per hour of
work.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Allegany County be and they are hereby author-
