Montgomery County, the Board of Election Supervisors of
Montgomery County, the Board of Health, the Police Civil
Service Commissioner and the Police Trial Board, the County
Accountant and Comptroller, the County Engineer and the
Building Inspector for Montgomery County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
164 of the Montgomery County Code (1939 Edition—being
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Montgomery County", sub-title "County Accountant
and Budget", as said section was amended by Chapter 821
of the Acts of 1941, increasing the salary of the County
Accountant and Comptroller of Montgomery County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 164 of the Montgomery County Code (1939
Edition—being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Montgomery County", sub-title "County
Accountant and Budget", as said section was amended by
Chapter 821 of the Acts of 1941 be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
164. It shall be the duty of the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County to appoint a person highly qual-
ified in accounting, preferably in governmental accounting,
who shall hold a certificate as Certified Public Accountant
issued by the duly constituted authority of some State of the
United States or of the District of Columbia as County Ac-
countant and Comptroller. The said County Accountant and
Comptroller shall hold office for a term of four years and may
be removed for cause only after charges have been preferred
and an opportunity given to be heard and he shall be paid such
salary as may be fixed by the County Commissioners at the
time of his appointment, not exceeding Five Thousand Dol-
lars ($5, 000. 00), Six Hundred Dollars ($600. 00) of which
salary may be charged as an expense of the operation of
the Liquor Control Board of said County or its successor.
