scribe and typewrite said evidence to be filed in said cause,
unless the Court shall by its order direct or permit said testi-
mony to be taken down and transcribed by a private stenog-
rapher, said testimony so taken to be paid for by the party
ordering the same; and it shall be the duty of said Court
Stenographer to furnish in any case, either at Law or Equity,
upon request of any party to any proceeding, copies of the
evidence taken, upon payment by the party or parties ordering
the same of the usual rates for the same, said rates to be
fixed by the Order of the Court. The County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County are hereby directed to levy annually
the sum of eighteen hundred dollars ($1, 800) for the payment
of the salary of said Court Stenographer so appointed by the
Court.

186. The Court Stenographer shall be entitled to charge as
part of his or her own compensation, in addition to the eighteen
hundred dollars ($1, 800) per annum salary, for all steno-
graphic work and typewriting done by him or her in equity
cases the usual per diem and rates for taking testimony, tran-
scribing and furnishing copies of the same when requested so
to do, except such copies as he or she may be directed to make
by a judge or judges of said court, for which he or she shall
make no charge.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be, and the
same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 100 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Work-Hours of,
In Factories", to be under new sub-title "State Employees",
said new section to be known as Section 77 and to follow
immediately after Section 76 of said Article, providing for
overtime compensation for State employees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
