parts of this Act, or any section thereof. The General Assembly
hereby declares that it would have passed the remaining part
of this Act or any section thereof if it has known such word,
phrase, clause, sentence, part or parts or section would be
declared unconstitutional.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That except as otherwise
provided herein all Acts, parts of Acts and parts of Laws
and ordinances, inconsistent herewith or contrary hereto be
and the same hereby are repealed to the extent of such in-
consistency.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
185 and 186 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Circuit Court", relating to appointment of a Court
Stenographer and typist by the Circuit Court, the duties of
the Court Stenographer, compensation of the Court Stenog-
rapher, and providing for an annual levy by the County
Commissioners to pay the salary of the Court Stenographer.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 185 and 186 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Circuit Court", be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
185. The Judges of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel
County are hereby authorized to appoint a Court Stenog-
rapher and typist for said Court, to serve for such time as
may be designated by the Court, who shall be a sworn officer
of the Court. The Court. Stenographer and typist so appointed
shall perform such duties as may be designated by the Court
as said stenographer and typist; and also to take full steno-
graphic notes of all testimony given in equity causes, before
any of the Standing Examiners of said Court and to tran-
