1744 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 998

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Regulations and Restric-
tions", said new section to be known as Section 420, to follow
immediately after Section 42B of said Article, and to read as
follows:

420. It shall be unlawful for the keeper of any hotel, tavern,
store, drinking establishment or any other place where liquors
are sold, or for any person or persons, directly or indirectly, to
sell, barter, give or dispose of any spirituous or fermented
liquors, ale or beer, or intoxicating drinks of any kind within
any election district or precinct of this State on the day of any
general, special or primary election hereafter to be held in such
district or precinct during the hours when the polls are open
and one hour thereafter. Any person violating the provisions
of this section shall be liable for indictment, and shall, upon
conviction, be fined not less than Fifty ($50. 00) Dollars, nor
more than One Hundred ($100. 00) Dollars for each offense.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 998.
(House Bill 238)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
464, 473 and 474 of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-title "Taxes
and County Treasurer", fixing the amount of bond of the
said Treasurer and providing for an increase in the salary
now paid the Treasurer and the Deputy Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 464, 473 and 474 of Article 13 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County",
sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer", be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

464. Before qualifying and entering upon the discharge of
his duties, the Treasurer shall execute a bond to the State of
