for which is already provided for by law. The members of the
State Roads Commission, and such of its employees and ser-
vants as are designated by it, shall have authority to enforce
all laws of this State relating to State Highways and the pro-
visions of the motor vehicle laws applicable to the size and
weight of Motor Vehicles, and to arrest all violators of any of
the provisions of law in reference to State Highways and the
use of said Highways by Motor Vehicles as aforesaid or viola-
tors of the regulations and orders of the State Roads Commis-
sion in relation thereto. Every such employee or servant shall,
when exercising any such authority hereunder, wear and dis-
play a metallic shield or badge indicating that he is an em-
ployee or servant of the State Roads Commission of Maryland;
provided, however, that no contractor, his employee or servant
shall be permitted under this section to make any arrests.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 207.

(Senate Bill 177)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
508A of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, " sub-
title "Sheriff, " as said section was enacted by Chapter
741 of the Acts of 1943, authorizing the Sheriff of Tal-
bot County to appoint a Deputy Sheriff, prescribing the
compensation of said Deputy, authorizing and directing
the Sheriff to acquire and maintain finger printing
equipment and relating generally to the duties of the
office of Sheriff.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 508A of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, "
sub-title "Sheriff, " as said section was enacted by Chapter
741 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

508A. (a) The Sheriff of Talbot County shall be paid
an annual salary of Eighteen Hundred Dollars ($1, 800. 00),
payable in equal monthly installments by the County Com-
missioners of said County, which salary shall be in lieu
