missioners shall be composed always of a representative
from each of said three Commissioner Districts; and the
salary of each of said Commissioners shall be seven
hundred and twenty dollars per year, payable monthly by
Worcester County, and the said Commissioners are hereby
authorized and empowered to employ a clerk to keep up to
date the assessment records and other records of their
office, the cost of such clerk not to exceed the sum of
twelve hundred dollars per year, and to be paid by
Worcester County, and the said Commissioners shall meet
at least one day in every week and shall remain in session
so long as may be necessary to properly transact the busi-
ness of the County. In addition to the annual salary afore-
said, each of the County Commissioners shall receive the
sum of $480 annually, payable in monthly installments, to
defray the travelling expenses of said Commissioners in the
performance of their official duties.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all of the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 294 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County, "
sub-title "Sheriff, " as said section was amended by Chap-
ter 274 of the Acts of 1938, relating to the expenses
and allowances payable to the Sheriff and deputy sheriffs
of Worcester County and to the compensation of the
deputy sheriffs.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 294 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester
County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " as said section was amended
by Chapter 274 of the Acts of 1933, be and it is hereby
