from time to time, to erect "Emergency No Parking" and traffic
"Stop" signs, at such places as in the discretion of said Board
may be deemed necessary or advisable within the Suburban
District. Provided, however, that any such "Stop" signs or
"Emergency No Parking" zones on State Roads shall be ap-
proved by the State Roads Commission.

The violation of any ordinance or resolution passed by the
Board of County Commissioners under this authorization shall
constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by fine not
to exceed $100. 00 or imprisonment not to exceed six months,
or both, in the discretion of the Court.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

CHAPTER 949.
(House Bill 712)

AN ACT to add seven new sections to the Montgomery County
Code (1939 Edition—being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery County", to
be under sub-title "County Supervisor", said new sections
to be known as Sections 268A-268G, inclusive, and to1 follow
immediately after Section 268 of said Code and Article,
creating the office of County Supervisor of Montgomery
County and prescribing his powers and duties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That seven new sections be and they are hereby added to
the Montgomery County Code (1939 Edition—being Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Montgomery County", to be under sub-title "County Super-
visor", said new sections to be known as Sections 268A-268G,
inclusive, to follow immediately after Section 268 of said Code
and Article, and to read as follows:

COUNTY SUPERVISOR

268A. There is hereby created the office of County Super-
visor, who shall be appointed by the County Commissioners of
Montgomery County and be removable at the pleasure of said
Commissioners. He shall receive such compensation not ex-
ceeding $10, 000 per year, as the said County Commissioners
shall determine.
