1592 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 935

Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore City to voters reported
as having moved.

201. Wherever in this Article words or phrases are used
denoting the masculine gender they shall be taken to include
the feminine gender.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That should any section
or part of a section of this Article be held to be invalid for
any reason, such holding shall not be construed as affecting
the validity of any remaining section or part of a section of
this Article, it being the legislative intent that the remainder
of this Article shall stand, notwithstanding the invalidity of
such section or part of a section.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws in the State of Maryland, General or Local, enacted prior
to January 1, 1945, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Article, be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of
such inconsistency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Article shall
take effect from June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 935.
(House Bill 719)

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of the Town of Bowie,
in Prince George's County, to borrow such sum or sums of
money, not exceeding ten per cent, (10%) of the assessed
value of the property in said town, for the construction of
a water and sewer system and to issue bonds therefor and
providing for a referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of the Town of Bowie, in Prince
George's County, be and they are hereby authorized to borrow
such sum or sums of money as said Commissioners shall deter-
mine necessary for the construction of a water and sewer
system in said town and to issue bonds therefor; provided,
however, that no money shall be borrowed in excess of ten per
cent. (10%) of the assessed value of the property in said town.
Any bonds issued under the provisions of this section shall be
