install fire extinguishers in such position or positions, subject
to the approval of the Chief Officer of the Volunteer Fire Com-
panies of Howard County, as to make them easily available for
first aid in case of fire. It shall be the duty of the County Board
of Education of Howard County to see that such fire extin-
guishers are installed in all the public schools of the County
in such place or places as the Chief Officer of the Volunteer
Fire Companies of said County may designate. It shall be
the duty of the Sheriff to enforce the provisions of this section.
Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be subject
to a penalty of not exceeding Fifty Dollars ($50. 00) for each
such violation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

CHAPTER 196.
(House Bill 312)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "How-
ard County", sub-title "County Commissioners and County
Collectors", sub-heading "Health Board", said new section
to be known as Section 87A and to follow immediately after
Section 87 of said Article, making it unlawful to erect and
maintain certain stables, dog kennels and rabbit hutches in
Howard County without a permit from the Local Board of
Health of Howard County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Howard County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners and County Collectors", sub-heading "Health Board",
said new section to be known as Section 87A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 87 of said Article, and to read as follows:

87A. It shall be unlawful for any person to erect or main-
tain a horse stable, cow stable, goat stable, dog kennel or
rabbit hutch in Howard County within 300 feet of the resi-
dence of any other person without a permit granted by the
Local Board of Health of Howard County. Before any such
