each political party subject to this sub-title to select delegates
to the national convention, respectively, of such political par
ties, in Baltimore City, shall be paid by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, and all the expenses of holding said
primary elections in each county shall be paid by the County
Commissioners of each county, precisely as the expenses of the
State, city and county elections are now paid under existing
laws.

(5) And it shall be the duty of the Board of Supervisors of
Elections in each county and of Baltimore City to cause to be
printed upon the official primary ballots of each of said po-
litical parties in each and every county of the State, and in
each legislative district of Baltimore City at the annual pri-
mary election in each year in which a President of the United
States is to be elected the names of the candidates for Presi-
dent certified to them by the Secretary of the State as above
provided for in manner and form and in all respects similar
to the way in which the names of candidates for the nomina-
tion for Governor are required to be printed upon the official
primary ballots by the provisions of Section 53 of this Article.

The qualifications of voters in such Presidential and Vice-
Presidential primaries held hereunder of the several political
parties subject to this sub-title shall be the same as in the
primary elections held under this sub-title for the nomination
of candidates for public office in Maryland.

The names of such candidates for the nomination for Presi-
dent of the United States of said several political parties upon
the official primary ballots shall be arranged and said ballots
shall be prepared and shall be marked and cast by voters in the
same manner as is prescribed by the provisions of this sub-
title with respect to the nomination in the primary election of
candidates for the office of Governor of Maryland.

(6) The candidate for the nomination for President who
shall receive the highest number of votes lawfully cast and
counted in the primary elections of his party in any county
and in any legislative district in the State convention of such
party held to select delegates to the national convention of such
party, and the votes cast in each such primary election in each
county and legislative district of Baltimore City shall be
canvassed and certified by the respective Boards of Supervisors
of Elections in Baltimore City and the several counties of the
State in such manner as plainly to indicate which candidate
for President in said several and respective counties and legis-
tive districts received the highest number of votes therein; and
the tally sheets and the returns and the certificates thereof shall
be made out accordingly so as to indicate plainly such results
