13. OYSTER TAXES.

(a) Inspection Tax for Maryland Oysters. An inspection
tax of two cents (20) per bushel is hereby levied upon all
oysters caught within the limits of the State of Maryland un-
loaded from vessels at the place in Maryland where said
oysters are to be no further shipped in bulk in vessel, and
said tax shall be paid weekly to the Comptroller of the
Treasury, or his agent, by buyer.

(b) Inspection Tax on Imported Oysters. An inspection
tax of two-thirds of a cent (2/30) per bushel is hereby
levied upon all oysters caught outside the limits of the State
of Maryland and imported into the State; said tax shall be
paid by the buyer at the point where such oysters are to be
no further shipped in bulk, and said tax shall be paid weekly
to the Comptroller of the Treasury, or his agent, by the buyer.

(c) Inspection Tax on Exported Oysters. An inspection
tax of four cents (40) per bushel is hereby levied upon all
merchantable oysters shipped in the shell to any place outside
the State of Maryland; and any cargo, bag or lot of such
oysters shall be inspected by the Department of Tidewater
Fisheries and said tax shall be due and payable to said De-
partment by the person shipping or carrying such oysters out
of the State of Maryland.

14. CLAMS.

(a) License for Taking Clams. Any person between the age
of fourteen and sixty-five desiring to take or catch clams for
sale from the waters of this State shall first obtain a license
therefor from the Clerk of the Circuit Court wherein said
person resides. The applicant shall pay the sum of Two Dol-
lars and Fifty Cents ($2. 50) for such license and, in addition
thereto, twenty-five cents (250) to the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for issuing the same. Said license shall be valid for the
calendar year when issued and shall be exhibited upon demand
by any officer of the Department of Tidewater Fisheries.

(b) Clam Dealers' Licenses. Any person wishing to engage
in the business of shipping or marketing clams taken from
the waters of this State shall first obtain a license from the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of the county wherein said person
shall reside. The applicant for such a license shall pay the
Clerk of the Circuit Court a license fee of Twenty-five Dollars
($25. 00), and, in addition thereto, shall pay fifty cents (500)
to the said Clerk for issuing same. Such license shall be valid
only for the calendar year in which it shall be issued. Nothing
in this section shall be construed to prohibit any licensed
