several Acts amendatory thereto or inconsistent therewith,
enacted since the said Local Code of 1930, and Sections 114,
115 and 116 of Article 39 of said Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title, "Fish", sub-title, "Clams"; be and the same
are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That a new Article to be
known as Article 72 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title, "Oysters and Clams", which new Article shall
embody all the laws pertaining to the above title in effect in
the State of Maryland after the passage of this Act, both Pub-
lic General and Public Local, including Sections 64 to 73, in-
clusive, of the present Article 72 (which sections embody the
concurrent legislation between the States of Maryland and
Virginia on the Potomac River), making said sections a part
of the new Article 72 to be known as Section 8, sub-title "Con-
current Laws on the Potomac River", be and the same is
hereby enacted to read as follows:

1. DEFINITIONS.

Wherever used in this Article, unless a counter intention is
evidenced from the context, the following terms shall be in-
terpreted as and for the meaning herein defined as follows:

GEAR—DEVICES FOR TAKING OYSTERS.

(a) Tongs—Any pincers, nippers, tongs or similar device
operated entirely by hand and consisting of two shafts or
handles and a metal body composed of two opposable and com-
plementary baskets used in taking or catching oysters.

(b) Patent Tongs—Any pincers, nippers, tongs or similar
device used to take or catch oysters and raised with rope, cable
or other hoisting gear!

(c) Dredge—Any dredge, scoop, scrape or similar device
used in taking or catching oysters by dragging.

(d) Hand Scrape—Any dredge as defined herein cast and
hauled by hand and without any winch, winder or spool.

(e) Tong Boat—Any boat on which or from which tongs or
patent tongs are used in taking or catching oysters.

(f) Dredge Boat—Any sail boat having no screw, propeller,
engine, turbine or other device for self-propulsion, and used in
taking or catching oysters by dredge or scrape as defined in
this Article.

(g) Buy Boat—Any boat engaged or used in buying, selling
or transporting oysters caught or taken by other boats.
