section was enacted by Chapter 663 of the Acts of 1941, be
nd it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
37A.
(h) Any pensioner of the Fire Department Pension Fund
who obtains employment with the United States Government,
the State of Maryland, County of Allegany or in any other
Department of the City of Cumberland (except for jury
service) shall forfeit his pension with the Fire Department
Pension Fund during the time of his employment. Provided,
that election to and service in any elective public office shall
not be construed to require a forfeiture of such pension. Any
member of the Department of Fire who shall be disabled
through injuries received in the line of duty in said Depart-
ment shall be eligible for a pension under this section, in the event
that said disability continues after the period allowed by
the workmen's compensation law of the State of Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2 of
Article 66 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Mortgages", providing that provision may be
made in mortgages for future advances.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ft y the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 66 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Mortgages", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2. No mortgage or deed in the nature of a mortgage shall be
a lien or charge on any estate or property for any other or
different principal sum or sums of money than the principal
sum or sums that shall appear on the face of such mortgage
and be specified and recited therein, and particularly men-
tioned and expressed to be secured thereby at the time of exe-
cuting the same; and, except as is hereinafter provided, no
mortgage or deed in the nature of a mortgage shall be a lien or
