Edition), title "Conservation of Natural Resources", sub-
title "Lands Formed by Channel Excavation in Sinepuxent
and Chincoteague Bays", exempting certain lands from the
provisions of said section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 27 of Article 19A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Conservation of Natural
Resources", sub-title "Lands Formed by Channel Excavation
in Sinepuxent and Chincoteague Bays", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:

27. All lands made or formed by the dumping or depositing
of excavated material in the Sinepuxent, Isle of Wight and
Chincoteague Bays during the construction or maintenance
of the Ocean City Inlet and Channel in said Bays, as well as
all land now made or which may hereafter be made or formed
by natural causes since the opening of the inlet in August,
1933, between the ocean and the bays, are hereby declared to
be natural resources of the State of Maryland and title to the
same shall be retained for the use of the Board of Natural
Resources and no patent therefor shall hereafter be issued by
the Land Commissioner of Maryland. The Board of Natural
Resources is hereby authorized and empowered to use said
lands for Conservation purposes in such manner and under
such regulations as in its discretion it may deem for the best
interest of the State, subject however, to the approval of the
Board of Public Works. Provided, however, that persons who
have licenses to hunt or fish in Worcester County shall have the
right to hunt or fish, as the case may be, on said lands dur-
ing the open season for such hunting or fishing. And pro-
vided, further, that the provisions of this section shall not
apply to any portion of Brant Island or to any portion of
Duck Island or to any portion of the lands bounded as follows:
On the north, by North Sixteenth Street in the town of Ocean
City; on the east, by St. Louis Avenue in said town; on the
south, by North Thirteenth Street in said town, and on the
west, by a line drawn from the westernmost point of Duck
Island to the westernmost point of Brant Island.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency Act and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
being passed upon by yea and nay vote supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
