1370 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 916

fees as are allowed for like services by the laws of the State of
Maryland, for making arrests or serving process for the viola-
tion of any ordinance.. Such Bailiff or Bailiffs shall be a resi-
dent taxpayer upon real estate in said town, and shall have
attained the age of twenty-one years and shall hold such posi-
tion for such time as the Morningside Commission shall deter-
mine. Such Bailiff or Bailiffs may be removed at any time
from such position by resolution of the Morningside Com-
mission.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted:

(A) That the Morningside Commission shall hold regular
meetings on the first Friday of each month, at such hour (not
earlier than 7. 30 P. M. ), and at such place within said town,
as said Commission may, by resolution entered in the minute
book of said Commission, determine.

(B) Said Commission shall have power to call a special
meeting or meetings to be held on Friday, not earlier than
7. 30 o'clock P, M., and at the last regular meeting place of
said Commissioners, whenever, in opinion of a majority of
said Commissioners such special meeting is necessary for the
welfare or best interests of said town.

(C) That said Commission shall, within one week after said
Commission, at one of its meetings, shall have received a pe-
tition signed by not less than ten registered voters who are
taxpayers upon real property in said town, hold a special
meeting. Such petition shall state the purpose for which
petitioners wish such special meeting to be held, and shall be
worn to as to the genuineness of the signatures thereon,
before the Secretary Commissioner.

That no special meeting of said Commission shall be held
unless at least one notice thereof, which notice shall indicate
the purpose thereof, shall have been posted by said Commis-
mission in a public place of said town at least three (3) days
prior to the date fixed for such special meeting.

SEC. 10. And be it further enacted:

(A) That annually on or before the first Monday in March,
after this Charter becomes effective, the Morningside Commis-
sion shall, by resolution entered in the minute book of said
Commission, appoint a Board of Election Supervisors, to be
composed of three (3) members, each of whom shall be a citi-
zen of the United States, of the age of twenty-five (2'5) or more,
and a bona fide resident of said town for at least six (6)
months.
