SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of July, 1945.

CHAPTER 908.
(House Bill 514)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
390 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's

County (Flack's Edition, 1943), as enacted by Chapter 298,
Section 318 of the Acts of 1937, to change the title of
the Transfer Clerk and Auditor to Transfer Clerk, to pro-
vide for an increase in salary of the Transfer Clerk, and to
define his duties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 390 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, Maryland, (Flack's Edition, 1943), as
enacted by Chapter 298, Section 318 of the Acts of 1937, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments,
to read as follows:

390. They shall in the month of March, 1914, and every
two years thereafter appoint a Transfer Clerk for Prince
George's County, who shall, subject to the control, direction
and decision of the said County Commissioners, correct and
keep the assessment books of Prince George's County so that
the same will truly show the actual owner or owners of each
piece of property thereon. To this end said Transfer Clerk
shall diligently hunt for and ascertain the true owner or
owners of all property on said books not in their respective
name or names, also every transfer of property by deed, decree,
will, descent or otherwise, and report the same fully at least
monthly to the County Commissioners. Said Transfer Clerk
shall also, as soon as practicable, after the last of March of
each and every year, audit the accounts of said County Com-
missioners, the Treasurer of said county and the Board of
County Road Directors for said County for the year preceding
the last Monday in March and report the same together with a
full statement of the financial condition of the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County to said Commissioners,
and the said report shall be published in the newspaper hav-
