CHAPTER 894.
(House Bill 277)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments. Sections
750 and 750A of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-
title "State's Attorney", as the same were enacted by Chap-
ter 328 of the Acts of 1941, to fix in Baltimore County, the
salary of the State's Attorney of Baltimore County, and
increase the salaries of the Deputy State's Attorney and
Assistant State's Attorney therein.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 750 and 750A of Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Balti-
more County", sub-title "State's Attorney", as the same were
enacted by Chapter, 328 of the Acts of 1941, be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
750. The State's Attorney of Baltimore County shall receive
an annual salary of Five Thousand Dollars to be paid to him
in equal semi-monthly installments by the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore County. The State's Attorney for Balti-
more County is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint
such clerical assistance as in his judgment may be necessary
for the proper conduct of his office, at such compensation as
he may deem proper, not in excess of Two Hundred Dollars
per month, to be paid by the County Commissioners of Balti-
more County on the certification of the State's Attorney.
Such clerical assistance as may be appointed by the State's
Attorney hereunder shall perform such clerical and other
work as he may direct, The salary herein provided for the
State's Attorney of Baltimore County shall be payable account-
ing from the effective date of the amendment to Section 9 of
Article 5 of the Maryland Constitution, as proposed by Chapter
490 of the Acts of 1943.
750A. The State's Attorney for Baltimore County is hereby
authorized and empowered to appoint a Deputy State's Attor-
ney at a compensation not exceeding Three Thousand Dollars
per annum, and an Assistant State's Attorney, at a compensa-
tion not exceeding Twenty-Four Hundred Dollars per annum,
to be paid out of the fees coming into the hands of the said
State's Attorney for Baltimore County, said Deputy State's
Attorney and Assistant State's Attorney to perform such work
in the State's Attorney's office as he may direct and as they
are now or may hereafter be authorized by law to perform.
