and ratio used at January 1, 1942, the basis of
which is the road mileage used in the formula in
each of the respective counties) ,to the use of the
twenty-three (23) counties, and expended by the1
Commission for the construction, reconstruction
and/or maintenance of the County System of Roads.
In the event the General Assembly, at the 1945
Session does pass an Act modifying the provision
of Chapter 888, of the Acts of 1941, or does re-
enact Chapter 703 of the Acts of 1943, as an
emergency measure during the War Period, and by
such Act does thereby authorize and permit the en-
tire share of the tax allotted to the Counties to be
used solely for maintenance of the County System
of Roads, then such respective amounts appro-
priated and apportioned to the Counties shall be
applied in accordance with the provisions of such
an Act so to be passed; otherwise, the funds appro-
priated to the Counties shall be administered in
accordance with the provisions of Chapter 888, of
the Acts of 1941.

To Baltimore City, for the construction, under the
supervision of the State Roads Commission, of
streets, highways, and bridges, and other related
construction projects within the corporate limits of
Baltimore City; for the purpose of reimbursing the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore for mainte-
nance of streets within the corporate limits of Bal-
timore City, such reimbursements to be made from
this appropriation to Baltimore City upon the pre-
sentation of proper vouchers showing the locations
of the projects and the amounts expended thereon;
and for the purpose of paying directly to Baltimore

City all or a portion of this appropriation, to be .
applied by Baltimore City in liquidation of highway
bond debt service costs......................... $1,163,005.31 $1,279,520.71
