02 LATERAL GASOLINE TAX (One and One-Half Cent
(l%c) Tax):
To the State Roads Commission the proceeds of 100%
(Less refund exemptions and less payments of
Gasoline Tax Refunds to Incorporated Cities and
Towns) of the Lateral Road Gasoline Tax Fund,
One and one1-half Cent (IMjc) after deducting
three-eights (%) of that sum appropriated for
maintaining the Gasoline Tax Collection Depart-
ment in the Office of the State Comptroller, and
after deducting an Appropriation not to exceed
Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for each
of the fiscal years (to be paid only in the' discre-
tion of and upon the approval of the Board of Pub-
lic Works) to that Company which shall actually
operate a Ferry Boat or Boats across the Chesa-
pe'ake Bay from Baltimore City or to and from any
point approved by the Public Service Commission
of Maryland, along the north shore of the Patapsco
River, or to and from any point on the Western
shore of the Chesapeake Bay and tributaries north
of the Patapsco River. The' amounts named herein
are computed as estimates only, it being the inten-
tion that these appropriations shall be 100% of the
revenue aforesaid, and it being further the inten-
tion that should the proceeds of this tax exceed the
respective amounts herein set forth, then such ex-
cess shall not revert to the General Fund of the
State, but shall be applied and administered for
those purposes and in like manner as the sums
hereby requested. Out of the total revenue as
aforesaid, and after provision shall have been made
for the deduction hereinbefore enumerated, the State'
Roads Commission shall receive Thirty Percent
(30%) of the net proceeds of the 100% for the
use of Baltimore City, to be used and applied in the?
construction and maintenance of» streets, highways,
and bridges, and other related construction projects
as may be performed within the corporate limits of
Baltimore' City and/or applied to existing highway
bond debt service. The remaining Seventy Percent
(70%) of the net product of the aforesaid revenue
shall be received and administered by the State
Roads Commission and by it apportioned in the
same manner and according to the same formula
and ratios as heretofore used (being that furmula
