CHAPTER 870.
(House Bill 725)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
240A of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", as said section was enacted
by Chapter 132 of the Acts of 1939, relating to the appro-
priation of certain sums annually to the public libraries of
Anne Arundel County and Annapolis and of Glen Burnie.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 240A of Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", as said section
was enacted by Chapter 132 of the Acts of 1939, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
240A. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
are hereby directed to appropriate annually from the general
funds of the county not less than the sum of f5, 000 annually
beginning in the year 1940 for the support and maintenance of
"The Public Library Association of Annapolis and Anne Arun-
del County, Incorporated", and not less than the sum of 11, 000
annually beginning in the year 1940 for the support and main-
tenance of the Public Library of Glen Burnie, and to provide
for such appropriations in their annual levy.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 871.
(House Bill 733)
AN. ACT to add five new sections to the Montgomery County
Code (1939 Edition—being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery County", to be
under sub-title "Purchasing Bureau", said new sections to be
known as Sections 830 to 834, inclusive, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 829 of said Code and Article, creating a
Purchasing Bureau for Montgomery County, providing for
the appointment of a Purchasing Agent and prescribing his
duties and powers.
