SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the commissioners appointed
by the act of 1858, chapter 107, to sell a part of
the alms-house farm in Somerset county.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it is represented to this General As-
sembly that the alms-house farm in Somerset coun-
ty is larger than is necessary for the use of the
poor and indigent of said county; therefore,
|
|
|
Power to sell
almshouse
farm.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the commissioners or a majority of
them appointed by the act of 1858, chapter 107,
entitled, An act for the relief of the poor and indi-
gent of Somerset county, be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered to sell such portion of
the said alms-house farm, and upon such terms as to
them seems proper.

Proceeds.
|
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the proceeds of said
sale shall be paid over immediately upon the re-
ceipt of the purchase money, to the county commis-
sioners of Somerset county, for the use of said
county.

|
Conveyance.
|
SEC. 3. Be it enacted, That upon the payment of
the said purchase money the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall have full power to con-
vey to the purchaser the lands so sold in fee.

SEC. 4. Be it enacted, That this act snail take
effect from its passage.
