1860.

Legislature of the State, having at the December
session of eighteen hundred and forty-nine,
evinced its disposition to foster the internal re-
sources of the State, by a liberal endorsement of
the Mechanic's Institute of Maryland, in aid of its
exhibitions, and as the agricultural interest is
deemed equally entitled to, and worthy of being
placed upon a similar footing with that of the
mechanical and manufacturing, as it is upon its suc-
cess the prosperity of the State, and the well being
of all other professions must depend; There-
fore,

CHAP. 38.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of the State of
Maryland upon the warrant of the Comptroller, be
and he is hereby directed to pay to the president of
the Maryland State Agricultural Society, the sum
of five thousand and five hundred dollars to aid in
defraying the expenses incurred by the exhibitions
of said Society, in its efforts for the development of
the Agricultural resources of the State.

Authorised
to pay.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sum of five
hundred dollars be annually paid the president of
said Society for the purposes herein enumerated,
within one month after said society shall have held
its annual exhibition; Provided, it shall be shown
to the Treasurer that the said Society is in efficient
operation at the time of said payment.

CHAPTER 38.

Annual dona-
tion.

AN ACT to authorise the Register of Wills of
Baltimore county to allow the original will of
James D. Wolf to be withdrawn from his office.

Passed Jan.
19, 1860.

WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assem-
bly of Maryland that the last will and testament
of James D. Wolf, has been duly proved before
the Orphans' court of Baltimore county, and that
it is expedient that the Register of Wills of said
county be authorised to permit the said original
