AN ACT to change the boundaries of the eighth
Primary School District of Howard county.

Bounds.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this act,
there shall he included within the eighth Primary
School District of Howard county, all that part of
said county lying within the following limits to
wit: beginning where the Frederick Turnpike road
crosses the Patuxent River then southward with
the said river until it reaches the old Annapolis
road, thence with said road until it joins the Dough-
oregan Manor road, thence with said road until it
joins the said Frederick Turnpike road and thence
with said Turnpike road to the place of beginning.

AN ACT in favor of the Maryland State Agricul-
tural Society.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, The Legislatures of the several States of
the Union have evinced a desire to encourage the
development of the Agricultural resources of their
respective States, by extending aid in various
ways to the State Agricultural Society, within
their boundaries, and have found the most bene-
ficial results arising therefrom; and whereas, at
the time of the formation of the Maryland State
Agricultural Society, and the granting of its
charter, application was also made for pecuniary
aid to enable it to carry out more fully the phil-
anthropic objects of its projectors, but which from
various causes was not at that time granted; that
the Society has struggled on unaided, except to
a limited extent from individual contributions,
relying for its support upon its fees of member-
ship and admissions to its shows, that from for-
tuitous circumstances during the year eighteen
hundred and fifty-seven, it has incurred respon-
sibilities beyond its ability to meet in its endeav-
ors to extend its usefulness: and whereas, the
