SEC.

BOARD OF POLICE—

jury, and if court neglect, State's

attorney to do so, failure of either

or both declared to be acts of crimi-

nal misbehavior in office,

Any judge that shall wilfully neglect

or decline to exercise the powers con-

ferred upon him, for preserving the

peace and securing the tranquility

and freedom of elections, and safety

of voters, &c., shall be fined $500 to

be recovered by the said, in the name

of the State,

Penalty upon judges for wilfully and

knowingly refusing a legal, or re-

ceiving an illegal vote, or combine

with any person to violate this arti-

cle or any other law, or the Consti-

tion, touching elections,

Penalty for preventing, hindering, or

attempting to conspire to prevent or

hinder any voter from the right of suf-

frage, by threat, violence intimida-

tion, or other unlawful means, or

imprison any person with a view of

causing such person to vote illegal-

ly, or against their will or under

compulsion,

Offering to vote in more than one pre-

cinct, or more than once in the same

precinct, to be deemed illegal with-

in the meaning of this article, and

subject to all the penalties for ille-

gal voting,

"

Punishment for combining to obstruct

voters or in any manner interfere

with the peace and quiet of election,

or with the officers conducting such

election,

"

If, believe that there is any deposit of

arms near any place of voting, to be

used to interfere with freedom of

election, or to intimidate voters, they

shall apply to the Criminal Court

or some justice of the peace for a war-
