AN ACT to renew and continue in force an act,
entitled an act to incorporate the Maryland and
Virginia Steam Packet Company, passed De-
cember Session, eighteen hundred and forty-
seven, chapter one hundred and twelve.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the act passed December session, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-seven, chapter one hun-
dred and twelve, incorporating and entitled an
act to incorporate the Maryland and Virginia
Steam Packet Company, be and the same is hereby
renewed and extended until the first day of Janu-
ary, eighteen hundred and eighty, and until the
end of the next succeeding session of the Legisla-
ture thereafter.

AN ACT to amend the eighty-third section of the
seventy-fourth article of the Code of General
Laws, so as to extend the right to sue captains
and owners of vessels in the county where they
take in or deliver freight.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That any captain, master or own-
ers of any steamboat or other vessel may be sued
for the non delivery or injury of any goods or chat-
