CHAP. 30.

tels in the county where the goods or chattels
are received on board of his vessel or in the
city or county in which the delivery was by the
contract to be made in the same manner as he can
now be sued in the county in which he resides.

SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT to make valid and effectual the official
acts and proceedings of Robert S. D. Jones, a
Justice of the Peace of the eight Election Dis-
trict of Anne Arundel County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Robert S. D. Jones of Anne Arundel
county, was duly elected a justice of the peace
for said county, in the years eighteen hundred
and fifty-five, eighteen hundred and fifty-seven,
and eighteen hundred and fifty-nine; and where-
as, the said Jones during the said period, also
acted as postmaster at Friendship in said coun-
ty, in consequence whereof doubts may arise in
regard to the legality of the official acts and pro-
ceedings of said Jones, as justice of the peace
aforesaid, whereby great loss and inconvenience
may result to sundry persons; Therefore,

Valid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the acts and proceedings of
Robert S. D. Jones, as justice of the peace in and
for Anne Arundel county, during the period in
which he has acted as postmaster, be and the
same are hereby made as valid and to have the same
effect and operation in law, as if the said Robert S.
D. Jones, had not acted as postmaster during the
period aforesaid.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
