CHAP. 583.

apprentices to serve until they attain the age of
twenty-one years; and shall find said apprentices
whilst under their charge, with food and raiment,
and have them taught reading, writing and cypher-
ing, and the rudiments of some useful trade or call-
ing, and have them instructed in Christian morality
and doctrine; and the said trustees and their suc-
cessors shall be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered to bind out said apprentices, when they
attain a suitable age, to serve until the remainder
of their term, of apprenticeship.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly of Maryland, may at any time hereafter
alter or repeal this act.

AN ACT to incorporate the village of the Rising
Sun, in Cecil county, Maryland.

Incorporated.

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the citizens of the village of
Rising Sun, in Cecil county, Maryland, shall be,
and they are hereby constituted and made a body
corporate, by the name of the Commissioners of
Rising Sun, with all the privileges of a body cor-
porate, and as such shall have succession, and by
their corporate name may sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded, grant, receive and do all other
acts as natural persons and may purchase and hold
real, personal and mixed property or dispose of the
same for the benefit of the said village, and to
have and use a common seal which they may
change at pleasure.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the free males,
white citizens of said village, of the age of twen-
ty-one years and upwards, being citizens of the
United States, who shall have resided in said vil-
lage for and during the space of six months pre-
ceding the first Monday in May next, may on that
day at the usual place of holding elections in said
village, and on the second Monday in May, in
