pay for each offence a sum not less than one dollar,
nor more than five dollars, recoverable in the name
of the State, before any justice of the peace in said
county; the money arising from such forfeitures to
be applied to keeping the said gate in good repair.

CHAP. 380.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 380.

In force.

AN ACT to authorise Lewis M. Motter and Henry
Rouzer, to convey the parsonage house of the
German Reformed church, in Emmittsburg, and
distribute the proceeds thereof.

10, 1860.

WHEREAS, on the sixth day of April, in the year
eighteen hundred and fifty-five, Joshua Motter,
Jacob Shower and others, executed a deed convey-
ing a house and lot of ground, numbered nine on
on the plat of Shield's Addition to Emmittsburg,
in Frederick county, to Lewis M. Motter and Henry
Rouzer, or the survivors of them in trust, for the
use and benefit of the German Reformed church,
as the Emmittsburg charge was then constituted;
and whereas, the Emmittsburg charge then con-
sisted of the German Reformed Congregation at
Emmittsburg and the German Reformed congrega-
tion at Apple's church; and whereas, the said
Apple's congregation has been severed from the
said charge and the Millerstown German Reformed
congregation attached; and whereas, the Emmitts-
burg charge of the German Reformed church, is now
composed of the congregations at Emmittsburg and
Millerstown; and whereas, the said Apple's con-
gregation have sold their interest in the said par-
sonage house and lot of ground, to the Millerstown
congregation; Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Lewis M. Motter and Henry
Rouzer, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered to convey the said house and lot of ground,
numbered nine, on the plat of Shield's Addition,
