CHAP. 360.

Teachers.

is hereby substituted for said sections so repealed:
The trustees for any school district shall agree with
and employ teachers for their several districts; and
the county commissioners shall pay no person as
teacher who shall not hold a certificate as before
directed from the inspectors of the county, and shall
employ no teacher for a longer time than for the
year for which they were elected trustees.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That so much of arti-
cle thirteen of the public local law of Howard coun-
ty, as is contained in the seventy-third section
thereof, relating to primary schools in said county
be and the same is hereby substituted therefor:

Annual report
of trustees.

That the trustees in each school district shall an-
nually on, or before the first day of October, make
and transmit to the county commissioners a report
specifying the length of time a school has been
taught in such district; the amount of money re-
ceived by them, the manner in which the same has
been expended, and as nearly as may be the num-
ber of children taught.

Repealed.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That so much of arti-
cle thirteen, of the public local law of Howard
county, as in contained in the seventy-seventh sec-
tion thereof, relating to primary schools, be and
the same is hereby repealed, and the following sec-
tion relating to primary schools in said county be

spectors.

spectors of said county, shall be entitled to receive
such compensation as is now allowed by law to the
county commissioners of Howard county to be levied
annually by the county commissioners as other
county charges arc levied.

In force.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
