CHAP. 353.

into the treasury the amount of the principal sum
of said State taxes as ascertained by the Comptrol-
ler of the Treasury to be due the State.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate a company to make a Turn-
pike from the Rocks of Deer Creek to intersect
the most northerly branch of the Baltimore and
Harford Turnpike Company, at or near the bridge
over Little Gunpowder falls.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a company is hereby incorpo-
rated to make a turnpike road from the Rocks of
Deer Creek until it intersects the most northerly
branch of the Baltimore and Harford turnpike, at
or near the bridge over the Little Gunpowder falls,
in Harford county.

Capital stock.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said company shall be thirty thousand dollars,
in shares of twenty dollars each.

Commission-
ers to open
books, &c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the subscription
books for the capital stock of this company shall be
opened at the La Grange Iron Works, in Harford
county, on or before the first day of May next, for
subscriptions thereto, and that Evans S. Rogers,
Thomas Russell, Jacob Gladden, Corbin G. Street
and Washington Hanway, be, and they are hereby
appointed commissioners to receive such subscrip-
tions.

Election of
president and
directors.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That when four hun-
dred shares of said stock shall have been subscribed
the said commissioners shall give twenty days no-
tice through the newspapers printed in Harford
county, to the subscribers to meet at a time and
place to be fixed by said commissioners for the pur-
pose of organizing said company, and the said sub-
scribers at such meeting shall elect a president and
